Morenike Olu

Former Trainee

Morenike Olu is originally from PG County, Maryland. She was first introduced to the Thompson Lab during her senior year of high school (at ERHS) for a very basic research project. She matriculated into Howard University in the fall of 2013 and spent 3.5 years in the Thompson Lab as part of the LSAMP program. She is thankful for the valuable skills she learned in the lab and for the opportunity to present at numerous conferences. She attributed her successful matriculation into medical school to her start in the lab with Dr. Thompson and Joseph Aubee. After graduating with a B.S. in Biology in 2017, she began her medical school journey and became a part of Howard University College of Medicine's class of 2021. She plans on becoming an OB/GYN and focusing her career on women's health issues.
